§ 1-14. Effective date and publication of ordinances.

  • Unless otherwise provided, any ordinance or resolution passed at a regular meeting of the town council shall become effective immediately from its passage by a majority vote of the council. No notice or publication need be made to render such ordinance or resolution operative and binding. The town council may in its discretion cause certain ordinances or resolutions to be printed in a local newspaper when it seems advisable. The town council may in its discretion require the expenses of such publication to be defrayed by a person where the ordinance or resolution involves the granting of a right or privilege to such person.
